Charaf Lahib is a documentary photographer based between Casablanca and Kelaa des Sraghna, Morocco. His work focuses on exploring life in his hometown and the nearby villages. Coming from these places himself, his work is like a personal journey back home. Charaf documents the lives of the people, memory, traditions and the relationships with the land, within a vision that traces and questions both what exists and what does not.
Charaf is also a published photographer, with his project Red Poppy released by Zoopark Publishing (Berlin). His contributions have earned him recognition through several awards, including the Révélation Prize at the Face à la Mer in Tangier in 2024. In 2026, he received the Arab Documentary Photography Program grant, supported by AFAC, Magnum Foundation, and Prince Claus Fund.
In 2026, he also presented his solo exhibition The Red Poppies, Fragments of Memory at the American Arts Center in Casablanca, Morocco.
